EDM LIVE Technical Training Program
EDM Basic Training - May 16-18 or October 17-19, 2022
Our basic curriculum is for students who wish to learn new EDM skills or for those who want to review their EDM knowledge.
One of the keys to selecting the best grade of graphite for any application is to know the materials classification and understand how to use the information on the specification sheets. The properties and characteristics of each grade of material are indicators of the type of performance that can be expected during the EDM process.
We proudly offer this training at no cost in our persistent drive to aid and advance the EDM industry and provide the support we are recognized for. This class covers:
- Properties and Characteristics of Graphite
- EDM Basics
- EDM Sinker Technology
EDM Advanced Training - May 19-20 or October 20-21, 2022
Our advanced curriculum is for students who wish to review more challenging aspects of the EDM process. The topics covered in the advanced course dive deeper into these more complex areas of EDM, and address student’s questions regarding applying these topics in their unique applications.
We proudly offer these courses at no cost in our persistent drive to aid and advance the EDM industry and provide the support we are recognized for. This class covers:
- Spark energy
- Electrode under sizing
- Surface finish measurement
- Optimizing adaptive control
- Electrode design
- Advanced EDM operation
Both of the industry leading courses is led by our dedicated applications engineers:
Robert Fothergill | EDM Applications Specialist
Having 20 years of experience in the graphite manufacturing industry, Rob’s skills span a full range of operations including graphite production, machine technology, electrode design, and practical applications in both CNC machining and Sinker EDM. Rob earned his bachelor's degree in Marketing from the University of North Texas. During his 20-year career with POCO Materials, now Entegris, Rob has worked in all facets of graphite manufacturing, supporting roles, and has spent the last six years as an EDM applications specialist. His focus is supporting end users with applications and technical assistance while showing process improvement and improving cost of ownership.
Marc Sanders | EDM Applications Specialist
Marc Sanders has over 15 years of experience in the graphite manufacturing industry and has held various operations roles at Entegris. Marc earned his bachelor’s degree in Marketing from Texas Christian University and recently earned his MBA for Western Governors University.
